I currently live in Maple Grove with my husband Todd, and our four children.    My husband and I have lived in the area for over ten years, having lived in Brooklyn Park for several years before moving to Maple Grove.  We have always enjoyed the Three Rivers parks in our area, and now with four small children, we appreciate convenient access to high-quality recreational opportunities even more.

I am a civil/structural engineer, and my previous work has included many projects, large and small, ranging from commercial construction to large US Army Corps of Engineers projects.

Our park commission is responsible for the construction and maintenance of a significant amount of infrastructure in our parks, including trails, roads, bike paths, buildings, and hydraulic structures. We look to the commission to make prudent choices with our resources, so that our infrastructure will provide lasting value to the people of the District.  I am accustomed to this expectation, as one of the roles of an engineer is to assist with these types of decisions, and to help maximize benefit for the resources spent.

Fiscal responsibility is an important part of being a mom and engineer.  If elected, I will bring my commonsense, pocket book principles with me to serve the community on the Three Rivers Park board.

I humbly ask for your vote for Three Rivers Park Commissioner on Tuesday, November 6th..

Sincerely,

Jennifer DeJournett
