Community Corner
BringBackOurGirlsTC Rally
Dear Community Partners,
What is happening in Nigeria is not isolated to this country alone. It is not an African issue or a religious issue- what the Boko Haram are doing has been practiced throughout the world. This is about the deep and nonnegotiable violation of basic human rights. These Nigerian girls must be returned to their families, and we must continue to condemn such atrocities and ask for an end to the systematic exploitation and destruction of communities through the trafficking, rape and exploitation of the most vulnerable members: women and children.
Please spread the word that on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 11, we are marching in solidarity with the families of the abducted girls, but also calling for deeper action and prosecution of human rights violations such as those committed by the Boko Haram. Please share the press release and flyer with your communities.
An interfaith, intercultural response to this crisis and the larger issues surrounding it are imperative. Thank you for your help and solidarity.
