Want more visibility & results from your Facebook Business page? Here are 10 tips that will increase your success.
.) Understand Edgerank - The formula that determines how your posts will be seen. Only 16 percent of fans will see what goes out in the news feed. You get higher rank for comments vs likes on your posts – so ask questions
.) Include Photos – Posts with photos get more edgerank than those without. Mix it up, use the questions app, go for 160 characters or less in your posts
.) Posting via third party apps – Your edgerank goes down when posting via a third party app such as Tweedeck, Hoostsuite or others. We all need to save time but be sure some of your updates are manually posted.
.) Change Cover Images Regulary – Mix it up, give your audience some visuals of your business, make it fun. Remember no contact info in the cover image.
.) Pin To The Top – Use this new feature to hold your status update to the top of your newsfeed if you have something you want people to be sure and see. It will automatically stay at the top for seven days once pinned. You can always rotate your content top the top and again mix it up!
.) Optimize your Thumbnails – With the new timeline you have thumbnails under you cover image, you can use these applications to re-direct to another page. Very cool way to offer your visitors more ways to connect with you. One can be a subscriber button to your newsletter, once could be a free offer, once could be a link to a website. Be creative!
.) Monitor your insights – If you don’t have someone managing your social media chances are you are not even looking at your insights which are free to every page owner on your admin page. shockingly a two percent engagement rate is average (take the # of people talking about your page divided by your likes and this will give you are engagement rate)
.) Respond to comments – This is all about connecting with people who take the time to comment on your page. Do it immediately!
.) Check your notification settings – Make sure you have your settings so you will be notified when anyone comments on your wall.
.) Make use of interests lists – You can add fan pages & people and get real time updates that people can subscribe to. Get fans to add your page to their interest lists.
