Vehicle versus Deer, Property Damage: Hennepin County Sheriff's Report

A public safety summary of service provided by the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office Patrol Unit the week March 25-31, 2013 for Medicine Lake, Hanover and other area communities.

The following public safety summary of information from the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office Patrol Unit that includes highlights from March 25-31, 2013.

In addition to the law enforcement services it provides throughout the county, the HCSO provides primary patrol services for the communities of Hassan Township, Greenfield, Medicine Lake and Fort Snelling, as well as the Hennepin County portions of Hanover and Rockford. The report was provided by the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office. Not all incidents are included in the summary.

Medicine Lake

  • March 27 - Deputies responded to an address in the 100 block of Peninsula Road for a welfare check.  Deputies made contact with the individual who requested to be transported to University of Minnesota Hospital. No other action taken.
  • March 30 - Deputies responded to an address in the 100 block of Peninsula Road for an intoxicated party report. The intoxicated male was transported to Methodist Hospital.

Hanover

  • March 26 - Deputies responded to an address in the 30000 block of 107th Avenue North for a medical. North Ambulance arrived and transported her to Buffalo Hospital.  No action taken by deputies.
  • March 27 - Deputies responded to the area of County Road 19 and County Road 17 for a vehicle versus deer accident.  Deputies spoke to the driver who stated there were no injuries.  A state accident report was completed.  No other action taken.

Rockford

  • March 27 - Deputies responded to the 6300 block of Woodland Trail for a parking question.  A 44-year-old female wanted information about parking a moving truck in a no passing zone.  Deputies advised her to move her truck off the road and was given the option to park at a high school down the road.  Reporting party agreed.  No further action taken.
  • March 28 - Deputies responded to an address in the 8000 block of Highway 55 for an assault report.  A Hennepin County Sheriff’s Detective is investigating this incident.
  • March 30 - Deputies responded to the area of County Road 50 and Highway 55 for a property damage accident report.  A 77-year-old male reportedly ran a red light at an intersection striking a vehicle driven by a 55-year-old male.  Both parties were checked and cleared by EMS at the scene.  A state accident report was completed.  No other action taken.

Greenfield

  • March 25 - Deputies responded to a business in the 7700 block of Highway 55 for a civil issue.  Deputies spoke to a female who stated she couldn’t cash a check issued by the business.  Contact was made with an employee at the business who agreed it was ok for reporting party to cash the check.  All parties were advised.  No other action taken.
  • March 26 - Deputies responded to an address in the 6200 block of Dogwood Street for a 911 hang up call.  Deputies made contact with the homeowner and determined everything was ok.  Homeowner was having issues with phone line.  No other action needed.
  • March 26 - Deputies responded to a business in the 7900 block of Highway 55 for an alarm.  Deputies located employees on site who were having problems with the alarm keypad.  No other action needed.
  • March 27 - Deputies responded to a business in the 7500 block of Highway 55 for a gas drive off report.  The clerk reports someone filled up their vehicle with gas and left without paying.  Loss estimated at $91.49.  The employee was able to get the license plate of the vehicle.  Deputies spoke to a 39-year-old male who stated he paid for the gas with his credit card but it must have not gone through and will pay for it.  Deputies later confirmed the bill was paid for.  No other action was needed.
  • March 27 - Deputies responded to an address in 4900 block of 70th Avenue North for an animal complaint.  Contact with the homeowner was unsuccessful   Deputies advised reporting party that middle shift deputies will follow up with the dog owner.  No other action taken.
  • March 30 - Deputies responded to an address in the 7000 block of 84th Avenue North for a traffic complaint.  Deputies spoke to several juveniles regarding the illegal use of the ditches and paved roads. 

The communities of Dayton, Corcoran and Rogers had no reports provided by the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office. The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office patrol deputies also issued one citation, responded to two alarms and had two property damage accidents.
