Premier Plymouth learning center known for ‘All-Day Learning’
& teaching world languages to open 2nd location in Maple Grove

The owner of Lil Newton’s Nest, an academic learning center in Plymouth where children can learn the basics of five languages, today announced the school will be expanding to a second location in Maple Grove this fall.  Owner Alyssa McGregor says the premier learning center for children ages six weeks through kindergarten has been at full capacity for the past two years with 272 students and now will be able to accommodate 144 additional students in one of the fastest growing suburbs for families.  The new location is scheduled to open its doors on Tuesday, September 2nd.

“We want to impact more people,” McGregor said.  “We’re much more than a daycare—we’re preparing youngsters to be life-long learners in a global economy.”  All children at Lil Newton’s Nest are introduced to French, Spanish, Italian, Mandarin and American Sign Language.  They also learn everything from math and science to yoga.  “We teach them everything,” said McGregor. “Kids even learn chemical elements.”

An Open House will be held on Saturday, August 9th from 3:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m. at the new 11,000 sq. ft. location at 6900 West Fish Lake Road.  This fall marks the learning centers fifth anniversary—it opened in 2009 with just seven students.

“We went there after being in a home daycare program and just absolutely loved their classrooms, the activities and the schedule,” said Susan Smith, mother of two children. “The teachers are like family to us now.”  Smith’s son, Jackson, spent four years at Lil Newton’s Nest, and will enter kindergarten at an area elementary school in the fall.  “He knows more than a kindergartner should at this time,” Smith said with a laugh.  She remembered the time her son said something in another language to their family pet.  “We had no idea what it was.  And he finally said, ‘Mom, I’m saying “I love you” to the dog in Chinese.’”

Susan and husband Rob also have a 20-month-old daughter, Melayna, in the Plymouth learning center, and will be moving her to the new Maple Grove location in the fall.  “It’s perfect for us—less than two miles away,” she said.  “I just can’t say enough about the staff, the programs or the rates.  It’s the best daycare.”

McGregor says she will be hiring 33 teachers and assistant teachers to continue the curriculums commitment to learning and academic excellence.  Families who would like to enroll their child at the new location in Maple Grove can find more information on the preschool’s website at www.LNNest.com
