New Year to Bring New Look Inside MarcDaniel Salon

The Maple Grove business celebrated its 10th anniversary on Main Street in 2012 and is getting ready for a remodel.

As residents prepare to ring in 2013, MarcDaniel Salon in Maple Grove is getting ready for a new look.

“The salon has been open for 10 years and we felt it was time for us to showcase again what trends will be relevant in the fashion/design area’s for the next 10 years,” MarcDaniel Salon President Daniel Link said.

Renovations will begin inside the full service hair and nail care salon in January and wrap up by the end of February. The salon will continue to be open during the remodeling.

The business first opened its doors on Main Street in May 2002. Since then, MarcDaniel Salon added its own line of hair care products. But the renovation will bring a new style to the salon.

“The salon will be getting all new wall colors, a new beverage service area as well as a comfy new lounge area for the guests to relax prior to their service," Link said. "We are hoping to create more of a 1950’s lounge feel in the salon."

MarcDaniel Salon now has 30 employees providing hair and nail service. Team members focus on cutting or coloring, which helps employees specialize in various services, Link said. Education is considered a specialty as well, each team member is required to complete an in-house eight-week advance training program.

“This training program is considered one of the most difficult in our industry,” Link said. “This allows us to be very selective on who we hire and how they represent us.”

Depending on whom you visit at the salon, haircuts range from $38 to $108. Color services start out at $36 and vary “depending on desired outcome.”

“We offer free consultations with any of our team members so that they can listen to your needs and then discuss the best options for you,” Link said.
