Shoppers will soon see a new business move into the remaining part of the old Circuit City building. The property owner, Kimco Realty, has confirmed Charming Charlie is their new tenant.

This fast growing retailer specializes in affordable women’s jewelry.

“We think Charming Charlie is a great fit for Maple Grove,” Kimco Realty’s President of the Central Region Rob Nadler said. “It’s a store that will appeal to all ages and will compliment the retail that is already in that area.”

Charming Charlie is a fairly new accessories business, opening in 2004. The Maple Grove store will become the company’s third location in Minnesota, with stores already at West End and Woodbury Lakes.

Nadler says the Fountains has been a strong commercial area since it opened, and despite a weak economy, he knew it wouldn’t take long to fill the vacant spot left by Circuit City. The electronics store was forced to close in 2009 after the company filed bankruptcy.

“We’ll have a good mix of retail in that area and we’re happy to see the spot filled in by a fast growing and well known retailer,” he said.

Charming Charlie will share the Circuit City building with , a store that offers fashionable housewares. Dick’s Sporting Goods, Marshalls and DSW Shoes are also in the same area.

No timeline was given for the opening of the store.
