New All-You-Can-Eat Sushi Spot in Maple Grove

There's a new dining option in Maple Grove: Kyoto Sushi. The new restaurant hopes to do well in Maple Grove, which the manager describes as a "hub of restaurant activity."

Get your chopsticks ready; a new all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant is now open in Maple Grove. has moved in next to in the Grove Square area.

The new restaurant, with plenty of seating and a bar, is already getting rave reviews from customers. 

“This is our second time here and the place just opened, so I guess that’s a testament to the food,” Nika Rybinski said. “My husband and I really like their selection and you can’t beat the all-you-can-eat deal.”

For dinner the never-ending sushi option at Kyoto Sushi is $24.99, for lunch it’s $14.99. 

The restaurant staff is well versed in the art of sushi. With a smorgasbord of meats, rice and seaweed in front of them, a team of people wrap sushi in minutes and serve the art deco looking plates right to the customers.

The manager of the restaurant, Yu Guo says Maple Grove has become a hub of restaurant activity, which is why the owners picked the growing suburb.

“We offer something unique and different,” Guo said. “I think we will become known for our all-you-can-eat sushi, but there is a lot of great options on our menu.”

Guo says the restaurant opened on Aug. 19 and didn’t do a lot of advertising so business has been a little slow. “I think that will change once word of mouth circles in Maple Grove.”

Locals like Lee Johnson say they’ll try it.

“I love sushi,” he said. “It could be a good date night place for me and my wife.”

Kara Spelling works in Maple Grove and says she is planning a lunch getaway to the new place. “We are always looking for a new spot to grab a bite to eat so we’ll have to give Kyoto’s a try.”

The restaurant can seat 180 people and is one of three Kyoto’s in the Twin Cities.
