Maple Grove’s Old Country Buffet Spared From Closure
All 14 restaurants in Minnesota survived a round of bankruptcy-related closures named by Buffets Inc.
A new list of 40 restaurants shutting their doors does not include Maple Grove.
The Grove Square location at 13603 Grove Drive N., will remain open, despite the chain's parent company, in four years, the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal reported Friday, Jan. 20.
The 40 Old Country Buffets, which account for nearly half of the 81 restaurants Buffet Inc. is shuttering, do not include any of the 14 Old Country Buffets in Minnesota. Several restaurants in neighboring Wisconsin ended up on the list of closures released by Buffets, Inc., including Racine and Kenosha locations.

The company is trying to erase $245 million in debt, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
