Firehouse Subs Opens Monday in Maple Grove

A unique feature to each Firehouse Subs, the Maple Grove mural pays tribute to Independence Day and features Maple Grove fireworks and fire truck.

Firehouse Subs, a fast-casual restaurant with over 700 locations, is opening on Monday, Jan. 27 in Maple Grove.

Local owner Jamshid Fehresti has located the sub shop at 11649 Fountains Drive. The restaurant will be open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

A unique feature to each Firehouse Subs restaurant is the custom, hand-painted mural inside the dining room. The Maple Grove mural pays tribute to Independence Day and features fireworks reflecting off a lake with the Maple Grove water tower and a Maple Grove Fire-Rescue Department fire truck adjacent to the festivities.

Founded by former firefighting brothers, the restaurant’s firehouse décor is based on the founding family’s decades of fire and police service.

Firehouse Subs "extinguishes guests’ hunger with medium and large hot specialty subs, including the number one selling, Hook & Ladder" sub, served with smoked turkey breast and Virginia honey ham smothered with Monterey Jack cheese. Other top sellers include the Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket and the New York Steamer (combines corned beef brisket and pastrami topped with melted provolone). All large specialty subs boast a half-pound of meat.

The touch-screen operated Coca-Cola Freestyle fountain is available in every restaurant and offers 120+ sparkling and still beverage brands.

In 2005, Firehouse Subs established its non-profit, Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, with the goal to provide funding, life-saving equipment, disaster assistance and educational opportunities for first responders and public safety organizations.

Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has given $8.3 million to hometown heroes in 39 states and Puerto Rico, including more than $58,800 to Minnesota. Local fundraising initiatives include recycling empty five-gallon pickle buckets and selling them to guests for $2 each, a Round Up Program allowing guests to “round up” their bill to the nearest dollar, and spare change donation canisters.
