Construction Moves Forward for Second Goodwill Retail Store in Maple Grove

The business is scheduled for a January 2013 opening.

Work on Maple Grove’s second Goodwill store has been moving forward at a rapid pace with a scheduled opening in January 2013.

The new 20,600-square foot retail store is being built near the intersection of Interstate 94 and Weaver Lake Road in Maple Grove. The store will be Goodwill’s second in Maple Grove.

Goodwill, which will lease the building from Oppidan, has not yet announced an opening date.

The Maple Grove City Council approved plans for the new store in September 2012.

Revenues from its 27 retail stores, along with other contributions, support these programs at 48 service locations in Minnesota and the Twin Cities Metro Area. For more information, visit www.goodwilleasterseals.org.

I think it is great, but I am wondering if we really need two stores so close to each other.

I'm excited to see this store. Goodwill, along with other thrift stores, are booming right now. I think the more we reuse and recycle, the better for our environment. And you never know what kind of a bargain or surprise you might find! (that's half the fun!!)
