Campers Seek Free Food at Maple Grove Chick-fil-A

Forty-two Chick-fil-A fans gathered at the chain’s new Maple Grove restaurant early Wednesday morning to win free meals.

The campers were taking part in Chick-fil-A’s “First 100” contest—a staple of Chick-fil-A restaurant openings that awards the first 100 people at the restaurant a sandwich meal every week for a year.

Participants had to arrive at the restaurant between 5:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. Wednesday. They then had to camp out over the next 24 hours to receive the prize.

It wasn’t just Minnesotans who participated. There were people from Missouri, California, Florida, Iowa, Oklahoma, North Dakota and Wisconsin.

The restaurant opens Thursday.
