ALDI Aims for April Opening in Maple Grove

The new discount grocer will be located 9610 Grove Circle North.

Construction has continued on the new ALDI store throughout the winter. Now, the discount grocer is aiming for a April 18, 2013 opening, according to a press release.

The new store is located off of Interstate 94 at 9610 Grove Circle North.

“We are pleased to bring our first store to Maple Grove to help customers get high-quality products at everyday low prices,” said Matt Lilla, Faribault division vice president for ALDI.

The recognize the opening of the new Maple Grove store, ALDI has a ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for 8:45 a.m. April 18, according to the press release. The public is invited to attend, tour the store and enter an on-site sweepstakes for a chance to win ALDI gift certificates. From 9 a.m. to noon, samples of ALDI brand products will be available.

Some of the unique aspects to the store include, to assist with overhead costs, the discount grocer has a cart rental system through which shoppers insert a quarter to release a cart and receive the quarter back upon the cart’s return. Other cost-saving practices include a smaller store footprint, open carton displays and encouragement of customers to bring their own shopping bags, according to the press release.

Hours of the new Maple Grove ALDI will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. ALDI accepts cash, debit and EBT cards.
