The organizers call it a venue where choirs from around the world can come together in peaceful competition. Participants in the 2012 World Choir Games came from 64 countries.

This year the competition occurred in Cincinnati, Ohio from July 4 to July 14. The North Star Boys' Choir competed on July 12 and 13.
