Preschool Drop-off: Kits & Cubs: Valentine’s Day Party

Monday, Feb. 11, from 1-3 p.m., at Eastman Nature Center, in Elm Creek Park Reserve, Dayton. Drop off the kids to celebrate Valentine’s Day, nature-style. Create beautiful Valentine’s cards for your family. Go on a heart scavenger hunt through the woods. Make a tasty Valentine’s treat for the birds and enjoy a special treat of your own. Doodlebugs

Tuesday, Feb. 12, from 9:30-11:30 a.m., or 1-3 p.m., at Silverwood Park, St. Anthony. Each week’s activities are based on a different children’s book with a nature-inspired art theme. We will spend part of every class exploring the wintry natural world, then get messy as we cut, paste, paint or sculpt! Dress for the weather and bring a light snack, water bottle, and a bag to keep all your projects together. Cost is $10 and reservations are required. My Preschooler & Me: Book Worms Story Hour: Holes, Burrows, Nests

Tuesday, Feb. 12, from 10-11 a.m., at Eastman Nature Center, in Elm Creek Park Reserve, Dayton. Animals need a shelter to survive the long, cold winter. Some dig one, some build one, and others just wear one! Hear the story of one animal burrow (with more than one animal!), then hunt outdoors for good winter homes. Preschool Drop-off: Lil’ Farmhands - Frosty Farm Fun

Tuesday, Feb. 12, from 9:30-11:30 a.m., at Gale Woods Farm, Minnetrista. Drop off your preschooler to dig right in to the day-to-day life of the farm. Every day your child will lend a hand with farm chores and prepare a farm-fresh snack. Program activities will focus on “Warm up the Barn” for the first three weeks, and “Frosty Farm Fun” for the second three weeks. Sign up for the whole series or each class individually. Feb. 12, from 10-11 a.m., at Kroening Interpretive Center, in North Mississippi Regional Park, Minneapolis. Make a valentine for an animal that lives at the nature center and also one for someone special at home. After the show, stay for a short hike, craft or other activity to celebrate Animal Valentines. Join other parents with small children the same age for “The Things You Love to Hate.” Be brave for your little one and discover the beauty behind bats, snakes and more.
