Preschool Drop-off: Kits & Cubs: White Winter Animals

Monday, Jan. 14, from 1-3 p.m., at Eastman Nature Center, in Elm Creek Park Reserve, Dayton. Drop off the kids to discover the world of camouflage animals. Compare the different animals’ abilities to hide in the snow. Play hide and seek, make white snow art, and enjoy a tasty snack. Cost is $10 and reservations are required. Doodlebugs

Tuesday, Jan. 15, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. or 1-3 p.m., at Silverwood Park, St. Anthony. Each week’s activities are based on a different children’s book with a nature-inspired art theme. Dress for the weather and bring a light snack, water bottle, and a bag to keep all your projects together. Cost is $10 and reservations are required. Preschool Drop-off: Lil’ Farmhands — Warm Up the Barn

Tuesday, Jan. 15, from 9:30-11:30 a.m., at Gale Woods Farm, Minnetrista. Drop off your preschooler to dig right in to the day-to-day life of the farm. Every day your child will lend a hand with farm chores and prepare a farm-fresh snack. Program activities will focus on “Warm up the Barn” for the first three weeks, and “Frosty Farm Fun” for the second three weeks. Sign up for the whole series or each class individually. My Preschooler & Me: Puppet Escapades: Making Tracks

Tuesday, Jan. 15, from 10-11 a.m., at Kroening Interpretive Center, in North Mississippi Regional Park, Minneapolis. Watch the puppets discover clues in tracks. Explore different kinds of tracks and hike to find animal tracks. After the show, stay for a short hike, craft or other activity to celebrate “Making Tracks.” Adults and children pay the program fee. Wednesday, Jan. 16, from 10-11 a.m., at Eastman Nature Center, in Elm Creek Park Reserve, Dayton. Discover the wonders of space and the fun of night-sky watching. Be part of this month’s interactive story about several of the “stars” of an ancient Greek myth that explains some of our sky’s constellations. Enter the “star bag” to magically view the winter night sky. Can you find the Big Dipper, Little Dipper, the King and the Queen? Cost is $4 and reservations are required. This week we will explore animal homes and hideouts, make a craft, and enjoy a snack brought from home. Cost is $10 and reservations are required.
