POLL: Should a New Vikings Stadium Be Built on the Metrodome Site?

Some state officials have shared their thoughts on the Vikings stadium. Here's a chance to share your viewpoint.

With the Minnesota Legislature back to work Tuesday, the topic of a new Vikings stadium was one of several topics making the headlines.

Questions lingered about location, a public subsidy deal and whether the stadium should receive the support of state funding.

Gov. Mark Dayton shared Monday, according to MinnPost, that the Metrodome was the “only viable site” for a Vikings stadium project to be approved this year.

House Speaker Kurt Zellers (R-Maple Grove) spoke before the Legislature convened Tuesday, according to the StarTribune, stating there has been progress in putting together a public subsidy deal for a stadium for the Minnesota Vikings.

Zellers told MinnPost Wednesday that focusing on “one site” is a step forward. Earlier in the week, the StarTribune reported Zellers did not have a preferred stadium site.

Last fall, Maple Grove Rep. Joyce Peppin (R-Rogers) for their input about the construction of a new stadium for the Minnesota Vikings and funding options. Some readers weighed in, expressing a desire to see the stadium built – but without a location.
