Maple Grove Parkway Station Closes for Parking Ramp Construction

The closure started July 9 and has commuter parking relocated to The Grove retail development until it reopens.

For the next six months, commuters that previously used to Maple Grove Parkway Station for parking have been relocated.

The Parkway Station, located on Maple Grove Parkway across from Maple Grove Hospital, is undergoing an expansion that isn’t anticipated to be completed until December 2013.

The construction at Parkway Transit Station includes adding an additional 298 additional parking stalls for a total of 799 stalls in the lot, according to a release from Maple Grove Transit. The parking ramp will cover about two-thirds of the existing lot.

Since July 9, commuter parking and Route 785 bus pickup has been relocated to a parking lot in The Grove retail development, located near Slumberland at 15794 Grove Circle North.

A temporary bus stop was built by Maple Grove on Grove Circle to avoid buses traveling through the parking lot.

“Unfortunately, only two small bus shelters can be accommodated at the temporary park-and-ride lot, but we will instruct the bus drivers to pull up immediately to the bus stop so commuters can board promptly,” Maple Grove Transit stated in a release. “We do not expect to alter any of the Route 785 trip schedules at this point due to the construction.”
