Maple Grove Library September 2012 Events

The following activities will be taking place at the Maple Grove Library for the month of September.

Master Gardener: Fall Yard and Garden Care
Tuesday, Sept. 11, 6:30 p.m.  
Fall is the time to plant bulbs and to prepare your yard and garden for winter. Find out what to do for your lawn, what and when to fertilize, proper techniques for composting, protecting shrubs, winterizing roses and covering perennials. 
Presented in collaboration with Hennepin County Master Gardeners, University of Minnesota Extension.

Money Matters: A Cost-Conscious Approach to the College Search
Monday, Sept. 17, 6:30 p.m.  
Carol Stack, co-author of “The Financial Aid Handbook: Getting the Education You Want for the Price You Can Afford,” will present a down-to-earth approach for affording college, common myths about college financial aid and suggestions for finding scholarships. Time for Q&A.

Preschool Storytime
Tuesdays, Sept. 18-Nov. 13, 10:30 a.m.  
For children ages 4 to 6. Help your preschooler get ready to read. 

Toddler Storytime
Thursdays, Sept. 20-Nov. 15, 10:30-11 a.m.  
For children ages 2 and 3. Interact with your toddler to nurture a love of books. Learn letters, sounds, and new words. 

Baby Storytime
Fridays, Sept. 21 & 28, Oct. 12 & 19; 10:15-10:45 a.m. or 11:15-11:45 a.m.  
Registration required; begins Aug. 24; limit 20. For children from birth to 24 months. 

Teen Anime Club
Saturdays, Sept. 22, Oct. 20, Nov. 17; 2:30-4 p.m.  
Grades 7-12. Can't get enough anime? Join up to watch and review brand-new anime episodes, share artwork and hang out with other anime fans.

Murder on Main Street Author Talk: Julie Kramer
Saturday, Sept. 29, 1 p.m.  
An afternoon with author and former WCCO-TV producer. Kramer will talk about her new mystery, “Shunning Sarah,” set in the Amish area of rural Minnesota.
