How Do Maple Grove Residents Beat the Heat?

We asked readers how they were staying cool during this week's heat wave.

With temperatures soaring well into the 90s this week, we asked Maple Grove residents one very important question: What are you doing to stay cool?

The conversation unfolded on Maple Grove Patch’s Facebook Page Tuesday afternoon. Three Facebook friends thought the  Maple Grove Farmers Market had the right idea. “Can't beat swimming at the MG Community Center and then stopping by to shop the Farmers Market while you're still cool! Thursday 3-7!,” the organization said.

Huddling inside an air conditioned house, playing in a blow-up pool or splashing in a water table only keeps children occupied for so long. Since Hennepin County is under a heat advisory until Thursday evening, Car Wash Zone recommended a trip to the Minnesota Children’s Museum. Christy Ross Bishop thought the Elm Creek Pond and Maple Maze should do the trick.

Facebook friend Amy Lantaigne said, “For boys keep them active in AC at Xtra Innings batting cages!”
