Fish Lake Regional Park in Maple Grove Closed to Vehicles During Construction

Three Rivers Park District: Depending on specific construction operations at the time, the general intent is to keep the park open to users entering on foot or non-motorized vehicles.

The Three Rivers Park District has started pavement construction work and boat ramp replacement at Fish Lake Regional Park in Maple Grove which has closed the park to vehicles until approximately Sept. 15.

The road construction project includes replacing pavement in the parking lots, entrance road and portions of trails.

"The Park District is also taking additional measures aimed at improving water quality in Fish Lake, including reducing impervious area and constructing a permeable paver system in the main parking lot," Three Rivers Park District stated in a release. "ADA upgrades will also be incorporated as part of the project."

The boat ramp at Fish Lake Regional Park will also be getting an upgrade. The existing ramp will be replaced with a longer ramp to extend into deeper water.

"The Park District has also coordinated with the Minnesota DNR and obtained approval to dredge a small amount of material from the end of the new ramp in order to provide greater water depth and improve the ease of boat launching," Three Rivers Park District stated in a release.

The new boat ramp is anticipated to be completed and operational after Sept. 15, 2013 and the park will re-open to traffic.

Construction is scheduled to be done in October, subject to change due to weather conditions or contractor schedule.

Depending on specific construction operations at the time, the park remains open to users entering on foot or non-motorized vehicles via neighborhood trail connections or the Medicine Lake Regional Trail.

"Park users should be aware of and follow the construction signage for their safety throughout the project," Three Rivers Park District stated in a release.
