Benefit for Jacob Beneke Memorial Nov. 4

The benefit at the Maple Grove Arts Center will to help the family and honor Jacob Beneke, who was victim of a Sept. 27 shooting at Accent Signs in Minneapolis.

In memory of Jacob Beneke and to help raise money for the Jacob Beneke family, the Maple Grove Arts Center is hosting a benefit noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4.

Jacob Beneke, 34, was from Maple Grove and victim of the shooting at Accent Signs in Minneapolis on Sept. 27, 2012.

Beneke was an active member of the Maple Grove Arts Center board and was working on the “Business of Art” program. He was a mixed media sculptor and abstract painter.

“We considered Jacob’s art ‘semblance,’ he incorporated many found items from antique pieces to farm equipment parts that took the shape of robots, deer antlers, flowers and many other forms,” the center said in a press release.

An “Art Junk Pin” created by the artists at the Maple Grove Arts Center are also being sold for $20 each to benefit the Beneke family.

Jacob’s art will be on display during the benefit there will be some items for sale as well as an auction with donations from area businesses.  

Benefit Information

Tickets for an all you can eat spaghetti dinner from Z’s Smokin Bonez, $10 per adult, $5 per child or $25 per family.  Tickets for fundraiser now on sale or at the door the day of the event. Music by Chuck Skajewski and for the kids (and adults) face painting and henna by Barbara Alldaffer.

Checks made payable to the Memorial of Jacob Beneke fund.

When: Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012 from noon – 3 p.m. or longer.
