4,000th Baby Of The Year Is Born At Maple Grove Hospital

Maple Grove Hospital opened in December of 2009 and did not expect to exceed delivery volumes over 10,000 until early 2017. However, they did just that reaching the 10,000 baby milestone in May of this year.

Over 4,000 babies were born at Maple Grove Hospital in 2013.

The 4,000th baby was Henry Thomas Good, of St. Michael, born to Emmy and Thomas Good at 10:24 a.m. on Dec. 30. Weighing 7 pounds 7 ounces, Henry was delivered by Dr. Christine Sarkinen of Oakdale OB/GYN and nurse Nhia Lee.

“The attraction to Maple Grove Hospital has been tremendously positive," said Linda Engdahl, Director of Women & Children’s Services.

The hospital partners with more than 50 OB/GYN providers delivering babies, and parents choosing to come to Maple Grove Hospital from as far as Brainerd, Willmar and cities in Wisconsin.

In 2012, Maple Grove Hospital had the second highest delivery volume in the state.
