Throughout the past 10 years, extensive repairs to the 7.5 mile stretch of the highway have prolonged the life of the road. Current cracks in the road, declining pavement ride quality indexes and drainage issues necessitate pavement reconstruction. The $12.2 million project will improve the existing and future mobility of the road and provide a smoother road surface. The project also includes installing new guardrails and improving bus lanes and pedestrian accessibility.
