Maple Grove Lions Club Supports Literacy for ALL Students

The participation of local citizens does make a difference in the lives of our community’s children!  The Maple Grove Lions Club recently presented a check for $27,000 to the District 279 media centers, via the District 279 Foundation’s Literacy Program.

The Maple Grove Lions Club celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2013.  The Maple Grove Lions Club is a service organization of local residents who, through community service, strive to enrich and improve the lives of citizens in their community, their nation and the world.

According to Brian Siverson-Hall, Executive Director, of the District 279 Foundation, the $27,000 will be evenly distributed to all of the media centers in ISD 279 Schools.  The media centers is the one place in every single building where every single student and staff member in the building will have access to the materials purchased with this donation.
