Learn About Online Public School At Parent-Hosted Event
MTS Minnesota Connections Academy
invites prospective parents to learn about its tuition-free K-12 online public school program Saturday, April 19, from 1-2pm, at Panera Bread, 7778 Main St. N, in Maple Grove.
Hosted by an MTS Minnesota Connections Academy parent, families can explore the school's individualized learning approach, curriculum, technology-enhanced learning environment, and learn about the enrollment process—all in a casual setting. Other covered topics include: How teachers interact with students in the virtual environment; personalized learning opportunities, including options for accelerated learning and gifted programs; college preparation; socialization; the role of the parent or other Learning Coach; and the use of technology. The program enrolls more than 1,700 students and has 52 full-time faculty members, including state-certified teachers, school guidance counselors, special education professionals, and administrative staff, including a principal and assistant principals.

Connections Academy meets the needs of students and families looking for an alternative to a traditional school setting—those who need a flexible schedule, learn at a different pace from their peers, need more individualized attention or seek a learning environment outside of a traditional classroom.
