Three Maple Grove Educators Named 'Best Teacher' Finalists

Also: A Maple Grove sergeant graduates from the FBI Academy.

Three local teachers were selected as “best teacher” finalists in this year’s Maple Grove Magazine Best Of reader survey.

Readers chose the following teachers:

  • Mark Cook—who teaches tenth grade U.S. history and American pop culture and coaches football at Maple Grove Senior High School;
  • Matt Detloff—who teaches social studies, coaches football, is an advisor to the Action for Reaction and Spirit Council and announces boys’ basketball games at Maple Grove and
  • Steve Borgstrom—a 33-year veteran teacher who teaches music at Osseo High School.

Maple Grove Sergeant Graduates from FBI Academy

Maple Grove Police Sgt. Adam Lindquist was one of 208 law enforcement officers who graduated Sept. 20 with the 254th session of the FBI National Academy Program in Quantico, VA.

The program teaches advanced investigative, management, and fitness training to

select officers who have proven records as professionals within their agencies, according to an FBI news release. On average, the officers have 19 years of law enforcement experience. They usually return to their agencies to serve in executive-level positions.
