 n us on Facebook!\nOur theme this year is "Amazing Desert Journey"\nJesu
 s Leads Us HomeFor we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is 
 destroyed\, we have a building from God\, a house not made with hands\, 
 eternal in the heavens. 2 Corinthians 5:1 \nNo fairy tale creations here
 &mdash\;this VBS theme is drawn right out of the Bible! The journey begi
 ns as Adam and Eve leave the lush oasis and enter a life of sin in the d
 esert. After all\, if children don't know we have sin\, then they won't 
 know their need for a Savior. From there\, children see how Moses led th
 e Israelites on a journey through the desert and Jesus was tempted in th
 e wilderness. The week ends with a joyful celebration of the Resurrectio
 n and the heavenly home God has prepared for us. At the center of all te
 achings is our gracious Savior\, Jesus Christ.\nAs a bonus\, each day's 
 memory verse is a petition from the Lord's Prayer. At the end of the wee
 k\, children will have learned the prayer that Jesus taught His disciple
 s!\nEvery day of VBS shows children that even though our earthly lives a
 re consumed by the desert of sin\, we can be refreshed by forgiveness th
 rough Jesus' sacrifice on the cross\, the promises of God's Word\, and t
 he earthly oasis of His Church.
