Minneapolis Mayor RT Rybak spoke at the Organizing for America west metro campaign office opening in Hopkins.

The west metro office for President Obama’s re-election campaign opened Tuesday in Hopkins with food, energy and a large crowd of people. “We will not give up one inch of the western suburbs. I am obsessed with winning this and with winning this (3rd District) Congress race,” said Minneapolis Mayor R. T. Rybak. Volunteers at the 1007 Mainstreet location were already at work talking about the opportunities to support campaign efforts and signing on more volunteers. The event also included short speeches aimed at motivating volunteers and garnering more excitement for the campaign ahead. UPDATE: Ron Paul Stumps at Maple Grove GOP Caucus For Votes

The presidential candidate spoke at the Minnesota Senate District 32 Republican caucus at Maple Grove Junior High Feb. 7, promoting his platform of less government and telling voters here that now was their chance to take their country back.

(Update: 9 p.m. Feb. 7) - Republican presidential hopeful Congressman Ron Paul (R-Texas) stumped for nearly 15 minutes to a packed auditorium at the Senate District 32 Minnesota Republican Presidential Caucus at Maple Grove Junior High School tonight, urging Republican voters to consider his platform of less government, lower taxes and a stronger protection of civil liberties. More than 1,000 Republican voters packed into the junior high school auditorium to hear Paul speak before dispersing to school classrooms to vote in their precincts for the caucus poll. Ron Paul did well in Minnesota and underperformed in the other two yesterday. It's frustrating to see the Republicans reject freedom & liberty while voting for more government control. Can Ron Paul win Maine this weekend? I hope so. I hope he keeps running as a Republican, building a base and then runs third party.
