Video: Maple Grove High School Varsity Cheer Team Takes First Place

The Maple Grove High School varsity cheer team took first place in the medium varsity non-tumbling division at the UCA Spirit of America Championship at the Mall of America.

On Saturday, Jan. 26, one of the Maple Grove High School Varsity Cheer teams took first place in the Medium Varsity Non-Tumbling division at the UCA Spirit of America Championship at the Mall of America. They came in first of five teams in this division, and beat the 2012 national defending champions in this division.

The small varsity team also took second place in the small varsity division, out of five teams.

The teams are headed to state competition this Saturday in St. Paul and the next week they travel to Orlando, Fla., for the UCA Nationals.
