With construction continuing on the new White Castle restaurant in Maple Grove, the business is hoping for an August opening.

“We are excited to announce our grand opening is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 12th. We are looking forward to seeing all of our Cravers,” White Castle representative Leisa Karl said in an email to Patch July 10.

Construction started on the building in Dunkirk Shopping Center in April 2012.  The Maple Grove City Council approved plans for 2,550 square foot restaurant October 2011. The restaurant is expected to have two-lane drive through and will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

White Castle is currently hiring for its Maple Grove site, according to a sign near the construction area as of July 11, 2012. Applications are reportedly being taken 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Cambria Suites Maple Grove. More information is available by calling 651-646-1811 ext. 11.

It’s been a little over a year since the Dunkirk Shopping Center went from a relatively vacant corner of County Road 30 and Dunkirk Lane North to a variety of business moving into the site.  Other business that have already opened on the busy corner include Becker Furniture World, Metro Storage and Valvoline, Freeziac, iBeach Tan, LeeAnn Chin, Verizon Wireless and Discount Tire.
