UFO Sightings in Maple Grove?

A flashing and rotating object in the sky. Four lights flying and disappearing. A UFO?

Two reports posted on UFO Stalker, a website that tracks reported UFO sightings throughout the country, indicated two recent sightings in Maple Grove.

I admit, it is one of the more unusual bits of information to come across my desk as an editor. It's one of those situations where you ask yourself – "What do I do with this?"

So, I’m passing it along to you the readers. Are you a believer?

Here’s the information, as shared on UFO Stalker:

The following information was submitted on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, regarding the sighting Aug. 3, 2012 near Wedgewood Lane.

Wife called me to the back yard at approx. 7:15 in a well-illuminated evening sky (no clouds/airplanes.) She pointed to a brightly flashing light hovering perhaps 5-6,000 feet up and 2-3 miles away. Using binoculars I could see that it was rotating on two different axis. During this rotation one view would be of two lights and another view of one big light. When the two light sequences would appear I could make out a black fuselage attached to each light much like the tail of the old WWII fighter plane. The brightness of the lights obscure seeing the full shape or outline of the object, I looked for a balloon, tails, wings or anything to indicate it was aircraft or from a local source but saw nothing. It just hung in one spot like a disco ball, not rising or falling and with no lateral movement. We watched it for about 5 minutes and I went to get my kids cheap telescope. I was while setting that up the object disappeared from sight. I didn't see it exit as I was looking at the telescope.

It wasn’t the first August UFO sighting reported to UFO Stalker for August. Another sighting was reported to UFO Stalker near 69th Avenue and Berkshire Lane North Aug. 12, 2012 stated:

I was laying down on a sidewalk near a lake, looking at the sky with three friends of mine. I noticed 4 faded/dim red-orange lights flying across the sky. At first I thought it was a comet, because of the coloring, but it wouldn't make sense for 4 of them to travel right next to each other traveling in the same direction. I was so surprised and confused what it was. I hit my friend laying next to me, saying "do you guys see those lights?! What are those?" but two of them were distracted by something else. The one next to me asked where. I pointed to it, showing the line it was traveling across the sky. It was was traveling too fast though and fading into the clouds. At the very end, the lights started rotating around one another changing into a different shape. Then it disappeared. My friend was mad he missed it. The whole duration was about 5-10 seconds. I feel slightly crazy having seen it, because no one else saw it and I don't believe in UFO's.
