Ready, Set -- Maple Grove Days Rice Lake Classic Run and Kids Run
Register and get ready training for the Maple Grove Days Rice Lake Classic Run and Kids Run July 14.
Maple Grove Days is bringing back the Rice Lake Classic Run this July.
The 3.7-mile run is in its 16th year during Maple Grove Days. The July 14 classic is on an all-paved trail surface through a natural setting around Rice Lake. The race begins at Freedom Field located behind Evangelical Free Church at 8585 Rice Lake Road.
Registration forms are available in advance at the Maple Grove Community Center, Life Time Fitness, or at www.maplegrovedays.org. The mail-in registration deadline is July 6. Pre-registration fee is $8 and race day registration is $12. This race is limited to the first 350 registered runners.
While this is a fun run, it is timed and medals will be awarded to the top three women and men runners in each of the following divisions: Age 14 and under; Age 15-18, 19-29, Age 30-39, Age 40-49, Age 50-59, and Age 60 and over. The run is open to all, the individual runner or a group. Teams are to wear coordinating shirts, bandanas and run with team spirit. New photo area for fun memories.
Participants should arrive for registration between 7 and 7:30am. The race begins at 8 a.m. July 14. All participants will receive an official Rice Lake Classic Run T-shirt. Participants are also welcome to a water stop on the course of the race and free refreshments are available after the race.
For the younger racer, who is yet able to take on the challenge of a 3.7-mile run, there is the Kids Fun Run. The one-mile race is also held on Saturday, July 14 at 9:30 a.m. around North Arbor Lake, across from the Maple Grove Government Center.
