The Maple Grove Senior High Dance team won its 10th Northwest Suburban Conference Dance Championship on Jan. 12 at Maple Grove Senior High, according to Lisa Schutte, Maple Grove Dance Team Booster Club President.

At the competition, they won first place in varsity jazz, varsity kick and junior varsity jazz. They now advance to their sections competition on Feb. 2 at Wayzata High School, hoping to advance to the State Dance Team Championships on Feb. 15 and 16 at Target Center. 

Captains for the 2012-2013 season are: Anna Jergenson, Paige O'Leary, Madeline Schutte and Elena Smale. 

In addition, some of the team was able to meet Abby Lee from the Lifetime Show "Dance Moms", who was in town with her team participating in a competition at Maple Grove Senior High.
