The 2012 Reading is Fun 5K Run/Walk, hosted by the District 279 Foundation, took place Saturday at Elm Creek Park Reserve in Maple Grove to benefit media centers in District 279 schools. 

The day began at 9 a.m. with a 1K Mascot Race and Family Fun Run/Walk, followed by the 5K Competitive Run and 5K Walk.

The top five 5K male finishers were:

1. Carl Stenoien 20:15

2. Rory Howell 21:29

3. Chris Ordner 21:52

4. Tony Streng 23:26

5. Brian Siverson-Hall 25:50

The top five 5K female finishers were:

1. Karen Stenoien 21:30

2. Becky Ivory 24:02

3. Ava Leneau 25:27

4. Sara Johnson 26:42

5. Christina Czech 26:46
