Maple Grove Days 2012 Pierre Bottineau Parade Thursday

The annual Maple Grove parade starts at 6:10 p.m. Thursday, July 12.

 

An annual tradition at Maple Grove Days, the Pierre Bottineau Parade will take place the evening of Thursday, July 12, 2012.

Area politicians begin the parade march at 6:10 p.m. followed by a vintage plane flyover at 6:15 p.m. as the remainder of the more than 100 parade units follows. The parade lasts until about 9:30 p.m.

The route will go down 89th Avenue, starting at Zachary Lane to 89th Avenue and ending at Elm Creek Boulevard (see pdf map for route details).

The annual parade is a tradition for Maple Grove Days attendees and features marching bands, Maple Grove Ambassador candidates, clowns, local business entries, candy, visiting royalty, scout troops and more. This year’s grand marshal is Osseo School District 279 Superintendent Kate Maguire.

Organizers are advising parade attendees that traffic could be delayed on 85th Avenue North and Weaver Lake Road between Zachary Lane North and Monticello Lane North the evening the parade due to road construction on 85th Avenue North.
