Maple Grove Crimson Cheer Takes State

More than 50 schools participated in the state competition put on by the Minnesota Cheerleading Coaches Association.

 

The Competition Cheerleading team participated in the 22nd annual state cheerleading competition on Saturday, Jan. 28 at the Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul.

Over 50 schools participated in the competition put on by the Minnesota Cheerleading Coaches Association. The Crimson competed against Edina High School, Bloomington Jefferson High School and White Bear Lake high school for the title of Division 1 Super Large State Champions.The Maple Grove Cheerleaders took first place and the title of state champions.

After the first round, each division winning team was invited to participate in the grand championship round. More than 10 teams competed for this honor. Maple Grove placed fourth in this round. Additionally, the team won the innaugural Courage Award, given to the school who overcame obstacles during the year.
