Updated: Hundreds Lose Power in Southern Maple Grove Following Accident
Power was out for about three hours near Bass Lake Road and Lawndale Lane in Maple Grove Wednesday, Dec. 12.
Updated 6:19 p.m. Dec. 12, 2012 - Wright Hennepin informed customers via Twitter about 6:15 p.m. the outage was resolved.
4:52 p.m. Dec. 12, 2012 - At approximately 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, Wright Hennepin Cooperative Electric Association informed customers on Twitter: “1,400 members are without power in Maple Grove due to a vehicle accident. Crews are on the way - estimating 3 hours to restoration.”
The number of outages was decreased to 341 about 15 minutes later.
The incident location, a Wright Hennepin representative told Patch, was near Bass Lake Road and Lawndale Lane in Maple Grove. According to the Wright Hennepin outage map, power was lost shortly after 4 p.m. Wednesday.
The accident involved one vehicle at the 68th and Lawndale Lane that hit an electrical box, according to Maple Grove Police Captain Keith Terlinden. No injuries were reported.
As of 4:50 p.m., power remained out for more than 300 customers.
