Free/Reduced Lunch Applications Accepted in Osseo School District

As the first day of school gets closer, parents of students in need in Maple Grove, Plymouth and other cities in the Osseo School District 279 can apply for free/reduced-price lunches.

Families in the Osseo School District can now apply online for free or reduced-price meals for their eligible students for the 2011-2012 school year.

Parents and guardians are encouraged by the District 279 to apply online at www.district279.org.

"Applying online also reduces application errors and helps ensure a faster response time. Eligible applications can also help schools receive education funds and discounts," the district said in a press release.

Hard copy applications are available at every school in the Osseo School District or by calling 763-391-7129.

Information provided on the application is protected private data, according to the district. Any family with a student(s) in the Osseo School District are able to apply to determine if they may be eligible for educational benefits such as free or reduced-price meals for students.

The Osseo School District is the fifth-largest school system in Minnesota and serves all or parts of Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Corcoran, Dayton, Hassan, Maple Grove, Osseo, and Plymouth.
