Fourth of July Events, Fireworks Near Maple Grove

Fireworks, music and more of Independence Day events happening near Maple Grove for the Fourth of July 2012.

The Fourth of July is just around the corner, which means barbecues, beaches and, of course, fireworks.

Here’s a look at some of the events happening near Maple Grove.  

Music in Plymouth – Followed by Fireworks

10:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 3 at the Hilde Performance Center, 3450 Plymouth Boulevard, Plymouth. The Plymouth Civic League and city of Plymouth will host the 40th annual Music in Plymouth. It is free. An evening of entertainment will be concluded with a fireworks display choreographed to music. For an entertainment lineup, visit the Music in Plymouth website.

Delano 4th of July

On Wednesday, July 4 at 10:30 p.m., find your spot on the dike near Central Park in Delano.  Admission is free. Maple Grove and FOX 9 meteorologist Keith Marler has been announced as Grand Marshal 2012 Fourth of July Parade. The parade starts at 10:30 a.m. with the parade beginning at 9 a.m. For a parade map, visit the Delano Fourth of July page.            

Fireworks and Boating
7 to 11 p.m. July 4 at Al & Alma's. Boat around Lake Minnetonka and float under the firework display in Echo Bay. The cost $15-45 per passenger

Farmer's Fourth of July

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 4 at Oliver H. Kelley Farm, 15788 Kelley Farm Road, Elk River. Cost: $9 adults, $7 seniors and college students, $6 children ages 6-17; free for children age 5. Bring a picnic lunch,, watch the spring lambs and take horse-drawn trolley ride along the nature trail. Visitors can also join in 19th-century games and contests including townball, the precursor to modern baseball or visit with the farm's costumed staff.
