Erik Paulsen Beats John Howard in Republican Congress Primary
Paulsen will face Democrat Brian Barnes on Election Day.
Rep. Erik Paulsen has won the primary for U.S. Representative in District 3.
With 95 percent of precincts reporting, Paulsen led 24-year-old John Howard III with 90 percent of the vote.
On Election Day in November, Paulsen will face Brian Barnes, a Democrat from Edina. Paulsen will try for his third term in Congress.
The third district in Minnesota consists of Minnetonka, Edina, Bloomington, Maple Grove, Plymouth, Wayzata, Brooklyn Park, Coon Rapids and Eden Prairie.
