Elm Creek Park Reserve Play Area Opens in Maple Grove
Three Rivers Park Reserve officials announced Elm Creek Park Reserve Creative Play Area officially opened Thursday, June 16.
Less than a week after the Elm Creek Park Reserve Creative Play Area was scheduled to open on National Get Outdoors Day, the play area opening day of Thursday, June 16 was quietly announced on Facebook Wednesday, June 15.
A Three Rivers Park District spokesperson confirmed new playground is open.
The $1.1 million playground is expected to possibly be the largest play area in the metro and could potentially draw in more than 1,500 kids a day throughout the summer.
Highlights of the new Elm Creek Park Reserve Creative Play Area include an 18-foot climbing net, a 30-foot dinosaur buried in the sand, a rock wall, seven slides and plenty of spots for parents to sit and watch their kids. It is free and open to the public.
Two previously scheduled openings were delayed.
