Maple Grove Students Honored for Academic Achievement at St. Olaf College
The following local residents were among nearly 900 St. Olaf College students who were recognized for academic achievement at the college's annual Honors Day convocation on May 4, 2012.
Honors Day recognizes students who have a cumulative grade point average of 3.60 or higher on a 4.0 scale. The convocation also recognizes students who have been awarded scholarships and fellowships, including Fulbright scholars, Goldwater scholars, and senior members of leadership and academic honor societies.
Elizabeth Geisendorfer-Lindgren from Maple Grove, is a biology and religion major and a graduate of Maple Grove Senior High. Elizabeth is the daughter of Peter and Karen Geisendorfer-Lindgren.
Trevor Knapp from Maple Grove, is a physics and mathematics major and a graduate of Maple Grove Senior High. Trevor is the son of Peter Knapp and Colleen O'Brien.
Ellan Krubsack from Maple Grove, is an English and mathematics major and a graduate of Orono High School. Ellan is the daughter of Donald Krubsack and Teri Larson.
Rebecca Strommen from Osseo, is a nursing major and a graduate of Osseo Senior High. Rebecca is the daughter of Thomas and Linda Strommen.
Whitney Traut from Maple Grove, is a social work major and a graduate of Maple Grove Senior High. Whitney is the daughter of Richard Traut and Traci Traut.
The ceremony began with a academic procession led by St. Olaf President David R. Anderson '74, and was followed by a reception for students, parents, friends of the college, faculty and staff.
