Family Activities at Three Rivers Parks Nov. 4-10

The following was provided by Three Rivers Park District for Nov. 4-10 family events in the northwest metro.

Free Family Fun Day: Mammals in Winter

Sunday, Nov. 4, from 1-3 p.m., at Kroening Interpretive Center, in North Mississippi Regional Park, Brooklyn Center. Discover how mammals cope in winter. Find out where they sleep and what they eat. Examine animal pelts. This program is free and open to all ages.

For Love of Lakes

Sunday, Nov. 4, from 2-4 p.m., at Eastman Nature Center, in Elm Creek Park Reserve, Dayton. Join Darby Nelson, aquatic ecologist and author of “For Love of Lakes,” to explore the paradox: We love our lakes, yet we not only allow but participate in their deterioration. Darby’s stories explore lake natural history and also some relationships we have with those lakes we say we love. Books will be available on site for purchase at an additional cost, and Darby will be available to sign books after the presentation. Cost is $5 and reservations are required. Call 763-559-6700 to make a reservation and reference activity number #412201-13.

Storytelling

Saturday, Nov. 10, from 10-11:30 a.m., at Kroening Interpretive Center, in North Mississippi Regional Park, Brooklyn Center. Lessons from animals, stories in nature, Thanksgiving messages — come along on this verbal journey with Nothando Zulu from the Black Storytellers Alliance. Meet live animals after the program. Cost is $5 and reservations are required. Call 763-559-6700 to make a reservation and reference activity number #41690102.
